Lauren and John's Wedding Boxes

A couple months ago, one of my best friends (since middle school!) got married.  I was honored to have the chance to make the boxes that her favors would be housed in for the wedding (well, that, and she also asked me to be a bridesmaid, so I felt pretty honored then, too :D).  When we went out in search of the paper to make these boxes, we didn't expect to find what we did.  The paper we found was absolutely gorgeous and a perfect match for color theme, which was black and white with red accents.  The boxes were black and white with a little glitter and red ribbons..  These boxes were so much fun to make because I just loved the paper so much!  Even after making 160 of them, I still think the paper is fantastic.  And, since I was at (and in) the wedding, I was able to see how beautiful these boxes looked on the tables at the reception.  They really tied everything together perfectly.  I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Halloween Boxes

I just wanted to update with some pictures of my Halloween boxes.  They turned out very cute, and they were fun to make!  I have many more pictures of other events to upload, but here is a preview.

The trick-or-treaters seemed to really like getting something different!  Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Welcome to Favors by Renee!

Welcome to the Favors by Renee blog!  This, along with my Facebook page, is where I'll update you on what I'm up to.  I'll let you know when and where you can find me at bridal shows, and I'll post pictures of the boxes and other favors I'm working on.

I thought I'd use my first post to let you know how I started this endeavor.  I am a volunteer with The Brides' Project's US chapter (TBPA2) here in Ann Arbor, and though I donate my time to the organization, I wanted a way to get more involved.  Since I don't have a wedding dress to donate (at least not yet!), I wanted to find a way to make a bigger impact.  A couple days before a bridal show in Troy, I came up with the idea of making favor boxes to give out at the Brides' Project table to bring more attention to the organization.  Once I started making the boxes, I realized that they would be a great way for me to use my crafting skills to help even more people.  Thus, Favors by Renee was born. :)

For those of you who don't know about The Brides' Project, I urge you to take a look at its blog here.  TBPA2 is a great non-profit organization dedicated to helping families have been affected by cancer.  TBPA2 accepts new and gently used wedding dresses and resells them at a large discount (check them out if you're in the market for a dress!), and all of the money from those sales is donated to charities that help children and families touched by cancer.  How does Favors by Renee come into play?  A portion of the proceeds from the favor boxes I sell are donated to TBPA2.  So whether you buy one box or 200, you'll know that your purchase is going to help a great cause.
